Another Wet And Windy Day

Monique1cccStopped raining long enough to take the Dog for a couple of walks today. Still really windy though. Cold Wind! We weren’t out long as I figure when my ears get cold, the Dog’s ears are cold; so we come inside.

And this has been my life the past couple of days. It’s either pouring rain or really windy or both. Day before yesterday, it started and all that snow we had melted in about an hour. Made the backyard river in record time this year. All that uphill snow melted, then the added rain, it didn’t take long. So we have 2 inches of water running across the back yard. I check it every so often to be sure it isn’t getting too close to the basement.

Monique3aAlso, I’ve received 8 or so e-mails today about tree’s down, and taking wires with them, all around the Sound. With gusts up to 50 mph I can see it happening. Ain’t much fun to lose power, but it’s gonna happen around here.

Sorry, just not a whole hell of a lot going on what with being stuck inside and all. Once the usual chores are done there’s not much to do except “computer” stuff and picking on the Dog. Walked a mile on the treadmill. (Finally!)

MCARC meeting tomorrow. Got the coffee pot all set to be turned on (like usual).

Kielbasa and Sauerkraut For Dinner.

Over the last couple of days I’ve heard several (over 5) reports of downed wires burning around the various counties. Ok, you’d expect some of that during the “worst” snow storm we’ve had here in some time. But, just a few mintues ago, I heard a report of a fire in a pellet stove. Yep, IN a pellet stove.

Now, I don’t want to sound stupid, but, isn’t that where the fire is supposed to be when you use a pellet stove? Inside?

Not a whole hell of a lot going on around here. Take the Dog for walks when I can. Still icy out there but the snow is finally melting a bit. I don’t remember it snowing much yesterday. (But my memory is shot anyway.) Mail run. Chores.

Did take my laser-disc player out of the basement and hook it up to the tv in the big room. Still have a butt-ton of laser-discs and wanted to see if the player still works. Does. Maybe I ought to put it all up on Craig’s List and see if it’ll sell. Fifty (or so. I’d have to count) laser discs and player for $1000 cash? I even have that version of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” where the artists drew Jessica Rabbit sans underwear.

Anywho, SWMBO is home and enjoying dinner. (It was yummy!) Think I’ll get ready to go lay down and read a bit.

A Snowy Sunday At Home

That’s the best kind. Started snowing around 1000 this morning and has been snowing off and on most of the day; so far. Supposed to get 3” or more between 1800 tonight and 1800 tomorrow. We’lll see.

It'll all change to rain. Just watch.

The usual Sunday around here. Regular chores and laundry while SWMBO is off to church. Running the dog around since we probably aren’t going to get out for a walk. Snow you know. Cold, Wet, Snow.

Although, after SWMBO got home we went out and checked her taters. They be soft and mushy like they froze. At least once. Dog had a great time though. No leash and he got to haul balls around the yard. He did good. Came everytime we called. He’s fast too! Way fast.

It’s 1600 and the snow is really starting to come down. Things are getting covered over. Cool!

Well, the MCARC Sunday Evening 2-meter Chat Net went well; cause I was Net Control tonight. Even had a fellow from Brown’s Point join us. (Kinda scratchy but mostly understandable.)

And that’s it. Think I’ll go start up the heating pad and get ready to go lay down. About 1.5 inches of snow has built up out there with more on the way. (They say.) SWMBO may have to leave early in the morning.

Gonna Rename The Dog To Buttfloss

BWBlond007Not a whole lot going on lately. As usual. Today is my normal Saturday routing so far; waiting for SWMBO to get home from the Genealogy Library so she can take me out to dinner. Probably going to Arby’s in Silverdale so we can check out a store called “FYE” (I think). May stop by COSTCO but I’m not sure. Whatever. Long as I get to spend time with SWMBO I’m happy.

Had some snow night before last but it didn’t last long. Been raining the past two days. Really cold rain; but not quite cold enough to snow or ice over. So the Dog and I haven’t been taking as many walks. Which sucks.

 

Thinking of killing my Netflix account. I get a movie, watch it, and wind up buying it anyway. Kind of wasting the money for Netflix. Had “Heroes” shipped to me and got reminded that I really liked it, so I bought the complete series on Amazon (blu ray). Ripping it now to put up on the NAS. Don’t let me win the Lotto!

Watching Tenori-On video’s on YouTube. Would like to get one but can’t justify the $800+ for one. Could get a new 857d or Drone for that. Guess I’ll keep playing with LMMS. Been thinking of taking guitar lessons too.

So, My Lovely-Young-Bride of 30+ years did take me to Arby’s. Then to this FYE place; where I spent $100 on Blu Ray’s and she spent $30 for a mix of music she likes. I got 8 Godzilla flicks for $2.50/ea. Wouldn’t have spent as much as I did but they had the 8-movie Harry Potter collection for $30 cheaper than I’ve been able to find it on Amazon. So I got it.

Walked the Mall and she got some financial book she’s been suggesting I read. Made our usual Safeway stop (when we don’t stop at Walmart) and we be home. Dog did well while we were gone. Didn’t pee/poop anywhere in the house. DID pile all my shoes and our light coats (that were hanging on the backs of chairs) in the big room. Ah well.
