Not a lot going on but I thought I’d check in. Was in bed and asleep by midnight last night so I didn’t actually see the New Year arrive. Heard some of our neighbors setting off mortars; at least, they sound like mortars. Lot’s of booming going on!

Last friday I picked up our New Dog. Wiz. He’s a pretty smart dog but still really shy around us. Neither of us wants to move too fast around him cause it sends him skittering away. But, he’ll get used to us.

Had a chance to see how he’d do by himself yesterday. SWMBO stopped off and got me a Taco Salad (without rice) on the way home so we ate here. She then took me to COSTCO for some “stuff” and we made our usual stop at Safeway on the way home.

Dog did fine. He had my slippers scattered about the big room; but he hadn’t chewed them up. And we’ve had only a couple of poop’s to clean up. The pet doors still freak him out but he’s getting easier to push through them. He’ll learn.

Snowed some last night (about 1/2 inch) and some more today. No real accumulation though. Was light enough that SWMBO could still drive to church and back. We took the Dog for a walk when she got home. Windy and cold. COLD.

The ISS passed right over our house early this morning; but, true to the Northwest, it was cloudy so I couldn’t see it go by. I hate this State. The Western part of this State.

No MCARC 2-meter Net tonight. Everybody must be recouperating from their midnight celebrations. Except for me and a couple of the guys. Old, we are.

Butter one side of the bread and place butter side down on your hot griddle. Start the Ham to warming. Butter the unbuttered side of the bread. (Be sure not to burn yourself!) When you’re pretty sure the one side of the bread is toasted, flip it over. Put one slice of cheese on each piece of bread. Put the ham in, slap the two cheesed pieces of bread together. Let sit until both outside pieces of bread are toasted (flipping as required). Grab some BBQ Chicharrones and you got lunch!

Made a run to Home Depot for some chicken wire. Got 50 feet of the 3 ft so that should be enough for what I gotta do. Also bought another of those motion sensor led light thingies for above the back door. Nice ride there and back except for the one slick spot I hit on the way out of town.

Just got an e-mail from SWMBO that we’ve been approved for adoption of Wiz. Cool. Now to work out time and place.

And, again, not a whole lot going on. Did manage to get that new light installed but damned near froze my fingers doing it. Funny how much one needs fingers that work when handling electrical components.

Anywho, SWMBO is home and it’s about this old guy’s bedtime.

Came by today for a look-see. Other than her being aghast at SWMBO’s sewing room (You really need to puppy-proof here!), and wanting chicken wire put around the bottom of the poop-yard fence (Just in case!), she seemed pleased. Seemed. We’ll find out when she calls the the HMFIC.

Not a whole hell of a lot going on around here. Sun’s out but it ain’t warm. Which makes it still too cold for me to get outside much. But, I tried. Didn’t last long; but I tried.

So, I’ve been cleaning up the last of the Christmas mess and puttering around my office. Listening to the various conversations on 20-meters and trying to fine tune the laptop. On my desktop I have a directory of Old Musicals (1930’s & 40’s) playing on the one monitor, Mail on the middle monitor, and this on the right. (I could never go back to just one monitor now!)

Way much later now … Just got back from picking SWMBO up. MCARC 10-meter Net went well. Think I’ll grab a piece of cheese and go lay down and read a bit.

Damn, I’m boring!
