I Have Not Accomplished Crap Today!

Fashion001aActually, come to think of it, that’s about the only thing I have accomplished today. Regularity is important for a man my age. But, it was really nice outside today so the Dog and I spent a lot of time outside walking and doing “things” out there. And my usual chores inside, of course.

We had to put our clothes back on for awhile to take some “before” pictures so I can take some “after” pictures tomorrow after I do what I want to do with the tractor. (Go back and read it slow and it’ll make sense.)

Fashion003aTook some of the ham left over from dinner last night, cubed it up, doused it with Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce, and stir-fried it until it was crispy along the edges. Added some small potato blend veggies and dinner was served.

Rental guy called and said he’d be dropping the tractor off about 0730 tomorrow. Cool! Gonna need time to learn to drive/operate it though. Never used one before.

SWMBO is home and eating. Since she’s going to hop into a shower I think I’m outta here!

Thirty years this December. And still  Wow.

Well. A Short Post Tonight I Guess

btkw29aDo y’all realize how many Computer Tech’s have named their computers (and many they work on) F*cker!? You, F*cker! Work, you F*cker! F*cker ain’t working! I changed the damed <insert device here> but the F*cker still won’t work! I can’t believe this F*cker! What’s wrong with this F*cker? I’m getting rid of this F*cker and buying a New F*cker to F*ck with.

Wonder why that is?

Not a whole hell of a lot going on around here. Been pretty SSDD all weekend. SWMBO took me to Burger King for a Whopper for our dinner date. Made a stop at the Walmart in Port Orchard this time. (Whe likes the one in Shelton better, turns out.)

She’s starting some pretty intensive school to become a professional (certified) Genealogist and has already started the studying. Good for her! Wouldn’t bother me a bit if people paid her to do what she’s been doing for free these past 30 years.

I have a tractor with a box thingie coming tomorrow or Tuesday; not sure which. I’ll get my $200/day worth of work out of it though. And may not need to rent it again for another 5-7 years.

Spent some time tonight making changes to the MCARC Constitution and By-Laws. Straightening up some of the wording and punctuation. Adding an admendment or two that’s already been voted on at the last meeting. (Which was last Saturday come to think of it.) Posted the changes on our Forums for folks to read and vote on again.

MCARC 2-meter Sunday Evening Chat Net went well but the repeater is pumping out a burst of static after someone transmits. Sucked. Seems to be something all the time with that old repeater. Still no guess as to when the “new” repeater will be up and running either.

And that’s about it. Think I’ll go lay down and read a bit.

When I Turn My Tablet Off

A prompt pops up with “Shutdown””, “Reboot,” and something else (senior moment). Tap on Shutdown. Another prompt comes up saying “This will turn off tablet” and requires I tap on okay. Why? I already held down the power button to shut the damned thing down so quit “asking” me if that’s what I really want to do by making me choose two (2!) more things to shut the damned thing down. Sheesh!

Garden Is Doing Good!

Took SWMBO to the ferry this morning. Wanted to stop by the rental place on the way home and see how much a tractor with one of those box scraper thingies would cost for a day; but didn’t think they’d be open at 0545 in the morning. So I just came on home.

Beech01aBeech02aMade a dump run. Both cans were full. Been raining off and on but managed to make the dump run between bouts. Which was nice. If you gotta make a dump run anyway.

Other than that not doing too much. Regular chores. Rode 5 miles on the bike thingie. Nuked myself a chicken pot pie for dinner. Kicked the Dog around some. Started straightening up the Big Room but didn’t get a whole lot done. (Need to find a home for that rocking chair SWMBO doesn’t want anymore. And the old big tv.)

The MCARC 2-meter Chat Net went well. So now I’m playing with our NAS and Router to see what I can do with them. (NAS won’t access the Internet for some reason. Gotta find that reason!)

Nice Day Trip To Tillamook With SWMBO

But, oh man, am I ever tired today.

We got up early and took off. Here to Shelton, to Olympia, to Portland (with a stop for breakfast about half way down), to Astoria (the back way), to Tillamook to the Air Museum where I donated my flight helmets from “way back when,” back to Astoria (and a dinner stop at a Chinese place), Across the bridge back into WaRshintion (where it really did immediately start to rain), to Montesano, to Olympia, to Shelton, to Home. 15 Hours. I was one tired Old Guy last night. (And I’m not even going to mention the crappy assed drivers that don’t know how to pick a speed or that play the “game.”)

Still kind of paying the price today. I am just dragged out. Barely managed to finish my usual chores. Feel really sleepy. This does not bode well for our coming trip to Tenn and Ohio.

I’ve had these helmets since forever. They’ve just been sitting on the tops of our book cases gathering dust and I just knew that, after I die, they’d wind up in the garbage or at some thrift shop somewhere; and I didn’t really want that. Not that it’d really matter to me after I die. But then I thought that I’d just donate them to the Air Museum and, maybe, people could look at them for another 100 years and enjoy.

Vamp03aThat wasn’t bad at all. Decided to have “fish and chips” for dinner. Kind of tired of the ways I usually fix fish though. So I spread Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce on the fish and pan fried it. Not bad at all. Of course, I used the fry baby thing for the fries and they were as good as usual. Something about using real lard …

I got to pick SWMBO up at the QFC tonight. She wanted to go to MacDonald’s to get something to eat. So we went to MacDonald’s. I had a medium vanilla shake and half her fries.

Anywho, that’s it. I’m still tired and feel like warmed over puke so I’m gonna go lay down.
