Pretty Much SSDD Around Here

Still raining more than not. Lots of flooding around the greater Seattle area. Had some snow the other day but nothing stuck. Dog and I enjoyed our walk in it though.

blnd4Had a migraine yesterday that kept me in bed trying to sleep to escape the pain. Mostly worked. Got up at midnight to sit up awhile (my back hurt from laying down 14 hours!) but didn’t stay up long. Went back to sleep around 0115 and slept for a couple of hours. Woke up for about and hour then back to sleep to a couple more. Woke up headache free but still having the post-migraine blahs.

But I try not to let that stop me. Still haven’t gotten into the MILA to get anything done but got garbage burned, dishes done, dinner being cooked and some scanning of Uncle Herman’s pictures done. Not a lot, I know, but something.

And that’s it. Boring. SWMBO and I are enjoying the new Picard.

Is Your Sister A Plastic Surgeon?

Lyle was hunting geese in the Northern Minnesota woods. He leaned his old 16 gauge against the corner of the blind to take a leak.  As luck would have it, his labrador dog Ginger knocked the gun over.  It went off, and Lyle took most of an ounce of #4 shot into the groin.

Several hours later, lying in a Duluth hospital bed, he came to and there was his ER doctor, Sven.  “Vell Lyle, I got some good noos and some bad noos.  Da good noos is dat you’re going to be OK.  Da damage vas local to your groin, dere was very little internal bleeding, and I vas able to remove all da buckshot.

“What’s the bad news?”, asks Lyle.  “The bad noos is dat dere vas some pretty extensive buckshot damage done to your pecker. I’m going to have to refer you to my sister, Lena.  “Well, I guess that isn’t too bad,” says Lyle. “Is your sister a plastic surgeon?”

“Not exactly,” Sven says. “She’s a flute player in da Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra. And because all you have is Obamacare, she’s going to teach you where to put your fingers so you don’t pee in your eye.”

Still raining! Still have a headache! Sick of Winter! Finished up a “Legends of Tomorrow” marathon and ordered season 4. That’ll be n tomorrow.

Absolutely The Worst Migraine …

I’ve ever had! Oh, I’ve had Migraine’s before, many times, almost every time the weather changes around here, but NONE like I had over the last 2 days. This one hurt so bad by 2200 last night I was pukeing everytime I tried to pee. Which was often. OMG. I have no idea what set this off, since I do watch my “triggers” rather closely but this one beat them all for sheer Fuck! Could have been the future weather changes coming plus I took my bp meds.

Otherwise, not a whole lot going on around here. SWMBO and I had a nice date day last Friday. I couldn’t do anything Saturday but she did the Genealogy Library as usual.

We still haven’t got a bunch done in the MILA. Haven’t felt like it. Physically. Neither of us. I’ve kinda sorta masked some of the things I don’t want to paint but still need to get on that flooring. Wouldn’t take but a couple of hours if we’d get down there and DO it; but haven’t. I hate winter. Winter!

aaabOtherwise, life as usual around here. DID make ice cream tonight. Tried to put 2 drops of blue food coloring in it and IT LOOKS LIKE BLUE FOOD COLORING APOCALYPSE in there! I even managed to get some of it on the whites when I switched them from the washer to the dryer. (Just my underwear, thank goodness!) Don’t ask me how cause I did try to be careful.

Anywho, I’m jsut checking in and not making much sense or being very logicalfor this post. My brain is still bruised from this last migraine. My legs feel “wobbly” and I’ll probably go to bed early tonight. If I’m lucky.

I’ll try to do a better job next time. (And, hopefully, that will be a bit sooner than I have been posting!)

Woke up yesterday morning already into a full-blown migraine headache that hung on all day. Worst I’ve had in many years. It actually hurt to think. Let me say that again: It Hurt To Think!. (No, really. It did.)

Needless to say (but I will anyway cause it’s MY blog) I was pretty much totally useless all day. Tried freezing my brain; didn’t work. Tried heating my brain; didn’t work. Took way too much ibuprofen and aspirin. Didn’t work. So I didn’t get much “work” done as I wanted to. Didn’t trust myself to drive either so I didn’t even check mail.

Damned Beautiful But So Much The Loser When She Doesn't NEED You.

I tried sleeping after my normal bedtime but it was off and on. Was looking at the clock at 0202 when, in the space of a second (as the clock switched over from 0202 to 0203), the pain was completely gone. Nada. Zilch. Like I’d never had a headache in my life. WTF? So I got some quality sleep until 0515 this morning.

Been moving the Renters “stuff” into storage  uphill out of Belfair. Having to pack it all, load it into the truck, take it up, unload it, repeat. Man, she has a lot of stuff! Texted her today that I’m doing that and that I’ve reported her two remaining cars as abandoned and gathering all her “outside” stuff into a pile. Haven’t heard back from her. Yet. Not really looking forward to it either.

She does have a nice underwear drawer though. Cat-O-Nine-Tails. That sort of stuff. Nice.

So, I’m about 3/4 the way to getting the MILA empty. Then I have to go after the stuff outside. Multiple Subaru engines, butt-ton of tires and springs and just parts laying all over the place. I’ve only got to keep all her stuff until 30 May and then I can do with it what I want. OR she can come claim (and remove) it anytime until then. It could go either way right now…

No Idea What They Did To Make The Floor Pucker Like That.

Whole place needs to be cleaned and repainted. We’re going to replace all the lights presently in there with LED lights like we just put in SWMBO’s sewing room. Several of the smaller, round, led lights in the kitchen and hallway (I’m thinking). Try to make it feel less like a dungeon or basement. All the blinds need to be replaced. At least half the floor in the master bed room needs to be replaced.

Anywho, that’s probably enough bitching. Looks like my days will be busy for awhile. Which could be a good thing when you’re my age and “retired.”
