We Had Our Friday Date Today…

Instead of tomorrow as SWMBO has a class AND a job interview. I don’t think she’ll be able to make her class though. Not enough travel time between the two.

So, she took me to see “Star Trek: Into Darkness” at the Galaxy Theater in Gig Harbor, Wa. It was the 1000 (10 A.M.) show and there were a total of 3 people in the theater including us. I Love The Galaxy Theater!

Enterprise (NCC-1701A)

And the movie. Loved it. Fitted right in with the rest of the New Star Trek Universe. Good action and great special effects. (Although, I don’t think they should be called “special” effects anymore. Just “Effects” I think.) The turn around of Kirk dying of radiation with Spock there (Good of the Many line was used way early in the movie) was okay but I knew they’d use Kahn’s blood to bring Kirk back so I didn’t get as emotionally involved as they hoped I would. Still a good movie though. I’d go see it again.

Star Trek Consititution class comparison

Love the NEW Enterprise. Loved the New Klingon Ships (D’s). Hated the New Klingon looks.

Not sure if I like the new Doctor McCoy though. The actor who portrays McCoy is good; but the character seems really “Whiney.” Grow a pair, main!

SWMBO took me to the teriyaki chicken place over by COSTCO for breakfast/lunch (Brunch?) on the way home. Stopped at Albertson’s and bought a cinnamon bun for later. Turns out we’re feeding the Missionaries at 1930 so I left dinner to SWMBO. I’ll have my cinnamon bun eaten long before they get here.

NCC-1701A

Not much else going on. Took the dog for a walk in the rain when we got home. SWMBO made us Doctor appointments for middle of next week. Making plans for our trip. Oh, got my oil changed at Tin Can Charley’s in town.

SWMBO Took Me To See Iron Man 3…

Not bad. Not bad. Not as good as I was expecting; although I’m not exactly sure what I was expecting. I guess the best I can say about it is that it was a good movie, but about half an hour too long. I did enjoy the very last scene between Tony Stark and Dr. David Bannerman (“I don’t have the temperament for it.”).

Iron Man 3

Other than that not much going on. We stopped and ate at KFC and “Man-Shopped” COSTCO on the way home. Got out and SWMBO planted her peas and beans. Took the dog for a walk. Caught up on e-mail and about to get started on updating the MCARC website. We’ll be “batching” it tonight so I don’t have to fix dinner.

NCIS - My Favorite Show

Just watched the season ender for NCIS. Damn!!!

I’m Sick To Death & Tired Of Scanning…

Pictures! Been at it a week now. But I got them all done. I think. Unless SWMBO finds some that she hasn’t brought to me. I got all the pictures in the box I’ve been carrying around for years and all of hers that she’s found and there shouldn’t be any un-scanned pictures in the house. But you know we’ll find a stack that hasn’t been done… Now I get to organize all those 7000 pictures! What fun!

My Aunt "Sis." (Geneva Johnson)

Not much else going on around here other than my usual housework and web-site stuff. And scanning. SWMBO is taking me to dinner tonight. Probably Taco Bell since we’re both in the mood for Taco Bell.

Me

I set up my Gallery to accept new members hoping that my family will join up and start uploading all the family photo’s they can to get them all in one place and accessible to the rest of the family. Doubt it’ll happen though. What use are those old photo’s if no one else can see them?

I will pass on that if you have a butt-ton of old photo’s that are 5”x7” or smaller, go to Amazon and get one of those Pandigital scanners. Talk about easy! Plug the thing in, insert a 8-Gig Sandisc card and start feeding the pictures in. I scanned in all those pictures and still have 5-Gig space left over for the larger pictures I had to scan on my full sized scanner. Thing is small enough to store in my backpack and take to the next family reunion.

Gotta stop by Staples and get a 16-Gig thumb drive also. Thought I’d use one instead of burning several dvd’s to send my FIL the train video’s I’ve been collecting for him. Hope he enjoys them!

Ah well…

This Is A Test. For The Next 60 Seconds…

Well, okay. I started out installing and trying to set up a bunch of plugins for this Windows Live Writer. Half of them have crashed the program and the other half really don’t seem to be worth anything. I do kind of like this one (insert polaroid) that inserts a tilted picture. (This is my Dad making the rest of my life a living HELL by trying to train my ears to stick out even further than they would have normally.)

I do kind of like the Wikipedia plugin as I can write, say, PSK31, highlight it then insert a Wikipedia link. It will look up the closest entry on Wikipedia that it can find and put in a link. Of course, IF I’m smart, I’ll check the link before I publish.

The “I’m Feeling Lucky” plugin lets me put in, say, Ham Radio, highlight it and insert the “I’m Feeling Lucky” plugin and it generates a link. Of course, I have to check the link before publishing. This time it generated a link to HRO and the Yaesu 857D (which is the very radio I have) so that’s pretty cool.

The “Cool Emotion”, “Tag Generator” and all the Twitter plugins just crash the Live Writer. I’ll try the other plugins later.

Still not much going on. About to go lay down and read awhile.
