Started snowing right at 0700 this morning. Put down about an inch before it turned to rain; and now it’s all almost gone. Dog and I even took a walk while it was snowing. Turned to rain while we were out. Bummer!

SWMBO got home from church and fixed Ham, Mac & Cheese, and Peas for dinner. Yummy. She took the Dog for a walk while I cleaned up the mess. (Didn’t take long.) Now we’re kind of sitting around waiting for her Home Teachers to drop by. Should be soon …

They came over and visited for awhile. Nice people. Somehow we start talking about politics. Everytime. But it’s okay cause they’re as redneck as I am.

The MCARC 2-meter Sunday Evening Chat Net went well. They actually heard me tonight! Not really static free, but, hey, they heard me.

Anywho, that’s really all that’s going on. I’m gonna go read a bit.

Not! Who writes these things? Thinking of offering to write one that sounds like someone with an education would write. (Which may disqualify me in the first place!) Maybe charge them $.01 per e-mail they send out and 10% of any profits they make. That’d probably make me rich.

Not a whole hell of a lot going on around here. Woke up to snowing this morning but it stopped by 0700 and was completely gone by 1000. Dog and I went for a couple of walks. Got my usual chores done. Pooped. Twice. Made some fries for lunch cause I felt lazy.

Playing with my 857d to see if I can get the shortwave frequencies. Seems to tune right, and the display matches (once I convert from KHz to MHz) but have heard only one (highly religious) voice so far. Will keep playing with it though. If I can listen in on shortwave/longwave on the 857d then I really don’t need to buy a dedicated radio.

Really went the easy way for dinner and nuked a mini-ravioli bowl SWMBO’s had in the pantry for 6-8 months. Ugh! Have had worse though. I’m not sure if it filled me up or it put me off of eating anything else. Guess we’ll find out in about an hour or so.

Anywho, since it’s Friday, I get to pick her up at the QFC around 1915 (or when the bus arrives). That’ll be nice. I might even take the Dog with me.

Oh, yeah. Forgot. We had us a small 4.2 Earthquake the other night. I felt my chair kinda jerk but thought the dog had bumped me. He wasn’t even in the room. It’d be a much bigger deal to me if I hadn’t grown up in and around L.A.

Anywho, we’re back from picking SWMBO up. She’s eaten and sat in my room to talk for a bit. Off doing her homework now. Think I’ll go lay down and read.

That’s the best kind. Started snowing around 1000 this morning and has been snowing off and on most of the day; so far. Supposed to get 3” or more between 1800 tonight and 1800 tomorrow. We’lll see.

The usual Sunday around here. Regular chores and laundry while SWMBO is off to church. Running the dog around since we probably aren’t going to get out for a walk. Snow you know. Cold, Wet, Snow.

Although, after SWMBO got home we went out and checked her taters. They be soft and mushy like they froze. At least once. Dog had a great time though. No leash and he got to haul balls around the yard. He did good. Came everytime we called. He’s fast too! Way fast.

It’s 1600 and the snow is really starting to come down. Things are getting covered over. Cool!

Well, the MCARC Sunday Evening 2-meter Chat Net went well; cause I was Net Control tonight. Even had a fellow from Brown’s Point join us. (Kinda scratchy but mostly understandable.)

And that’s it. Think I’ll go start up the heating pad and get ready to go lay down. About 1.5 inches of snow has built up out there with more on the way. (They say.) SWMBO may have to leave early in the morning.

But there’s only about half an inch on our deck railing. This is what we’re looking at for the next few hours:

SWMBO and I went to Walmart so I could get a wall mount for her old monitor/tv that started working again. I swear I have no idea how I fixed it other than making sure everything was tight. But, it’s working just fine and makes a great 2nd monitor for my laptop. I can read everything on it! Woo Woo!

We also went to the Doggy Daycare thingie in Gig Harbor and met the new dog we’re trying to get. They think he’s a Minpin(?). Call him Wiz. Not sure I want to be yelling that out in the woods.

Not a great picture of him. He seems to be a nice dog. Didn’t really pay a lot of attention to us what with his foster Dad there, but I suspect that’s change once he’s here at the house.

Took SWMBO to the teriyaki place near COSTCO on the way home. Got home and she’s off sewing (and trying to make her room dog-proof) and I watched the Doctor Who Christmas special.

Oh, our Christmas went great. SWMBO’s Brother, Son and his girlfriend, and I. SWMBO seemed to like her presents (travel cases for her sewing) and she gave me a handmade TARDIS fleece jacket thingie. Nice! Her Son (and his girlfriend) also gave me “Doctor Who: The Vault” book with the history of Doctor Who. Cool! I let them both pick a sword and knife from my collection.

We all had a pretty good time. Stuffed ourselves on Ham and the fixins. They watched Christmas stuff and I played in here mostly. (Had to get away for bit. Was getting overloaded with noise and people.)

And that’s pretty much it at 1910 this Monday night. Think I’ll go gt a piece of cheescake.
