sólo otro SSDD Martes

Well, so far this Tuesday has been the Tuesday of the week. I’d say SSDD, but saying SSDD is pretty SSDD around here. просто еще один SSDD вторник. Zhǐshì lìng yīgè SSDD xīngqí’èr. 只是另一个SSDD星期二. No matter what language you say it in, it’s still SSDD.

Listening to the radio while cleaning up around here. Heard a guy from England talk for awhile trying to make a contact with Nevada to complete his WAS. Even when he called for Nevada people from other places would contact him. He was gracious about it. An 11 year old girl was making lots of contacts and sounded cute “talking on the radio.” We need more young people in the hobby.

Finally cleaning the damned fridge out; something was beginning to make it’s own gravy in there. Getting rid of the last lot of tomato’s I picked over the past few days. Gone over or just not “right” to me. I don’t really care about blemishes; I can cut those out. Some have discolored patches almost like bruises but the mater feels firm. I don’t know. It’s now too cool for anything else to ripen so I’m about to take the garden apart for the year. Will harvest the Brussels sprouts though and save what I can of those.

So I did a load of tomato’s while playing with PSK31 on the radio. Didn’t make any contacts but wanted to see where my signal was being heard. Pretty much West Coast and over to New York area. Nothing in the South East that showed up.

MCARC 10-meter Chat Net went well with only 4 of us. I heard 2 of the others and everyone heard me. Ah well.

And, of course, it’s already clouding over so I probably won’t be able to see the Eclipse tonight. Again. I finally just packed away my telescope; it’s damned near useless up here. One of these days…

And that’s pretty much it. Pretty boring, I know. But that’s the life I lead. At least I don’t cover it in the minute details.

Indulged Myself This Morning

Made myself a mater-green pepper-Sausage Sprinkle-Havarti Cheese Omelet, toasted English Muffin, and Sunny D breakfast. Was good! Ready to kick ass and screw the names today! (Sure!)

While scanning Genealogical Helpers, getting the dishes done, prepping for stewing tomato’s, finishing the laundry, and taking time to watch the latest Doctor Who. Oh, and ripping some more of my DVD’s to .mp4 files.

I like staying busy.

What They Looked Like When I Started.

1130 – First batch of maters boiling down. Decided to do the regular tomato’s first and the Roma’s as their own batch. I want to see if there is a difference in the sauces.

Decided on Meatloaf, Peas, and Mashed Taters for dinner. It’s all cooking now. Picked another 10lbs of tomato’s from the garden. Won’t be long until I can boil them down. Just not much else going on.

And that’s another day at the King’s household. It’s 2030. SWMBO’s home and I’m about to call it a day. Tired of scanning Genealogy Helper’s and negatives. Tired of ripping my DVD’s. Just tired.

Sep 11

It’s Zero-Dark-Thirty Sept 11th

And I’m up, as usual. News is on but it doesn’t seem anything has happened, yet. Am I the only one that expects another attack on 9/11? They showed part of the “Remembering 9/11” Ceremony. Someone was (badly) singing the National Anthem, everyone in uniform was saluting the flag going by, Obama and his wife were walking.

Meanwhile, we have a “Red Flag Warning” (Fire Danger) from the NWS with gusty east winds (25-40 mph) coming at us today. Meaning Y’all Be Careful! If a fire got started it’ll run before the wind. Better make sure everything’s tied down. Supposed to get warmer over the next few days here (low 80’s), but the Central Plains are expecting a (really) cold front to move through.

Tried Honey in my coffee today instead of sugar. Yeah, I know the heat kills the honey, but I’m looking to sweeten my coffee without using sugar. Can’t stand that fake sugar shit; leaves a tingly sensation in the back of my throat.

MMmmm. Spam Spread & Crackers for a lunch snack! Life is good. Making meatloaf later so life will be better. (I make a pretty good meatloaf.)

Nice and Sunny and fairly warm (70 degrees right now) so I’ve been outside as much as possible. Folded the tent trailer up for Winter. Swapped the coax on my 6btv antenna for some thicker/better coax. Watered the garden and picked today’s haul (maters & 1 green pepper). Inside I’ve been scanning Genealogical Helpers and my usual chores.

So, instead of meatloaf for dinner I’m experimenting. Made beef stuffed cabbage rolls instead. One pan is made exactly by the recipe book. The other has Mexican style maters spread over the top because I couldn’t find another can of condensed tomato soup. AND I have to make instant mashed potato’s cause we’re out of real potato’s. Since the meat mix is wrapped in cabbage I don’t figure I need another veggie. Hope they both turn out. (Did. Good. Tasty.)

And that’s about it. Some folks followed SWMBO home to give us a guesstimate on finishing the taping & pasting. $200. I can live with that. They’ll start Saturday. Cool!
