Trip-Day 2. Unknown Miles

Took me all day to get from where I was to where I am though! I’m so tired!

We got up at 0600 and was on the road by 0700. Hit Ogden about 1100. I admit it.: SLC traffic had me in full fight-or-flight mode and I couldn’t get through there fast enough. As it was I got turned around in West Jordan looking for a Walmart (which I didn’t find until near Provo).

Along HWY-6

The ride from Spanish Fork to Price is absolutely beautiful!

OnStar sent me to a RV Park that didn’t exist when I asked them for directions to one in Price, Utah. Then the next girl sent me back North to Helper, Utah to one that was tiny tiny tiny and I had to back my trailer up almost a block.

Finally found this one in Wellington. It’s really a fleabag RV Park; but they had an empty (lots of empty) and was only $24 for the night. Got electric and that’s really all I need.

So, since it’s getting late I’m going to bed.

Trip: Day 01

Left the house @ 0500. Decided to go through Portland (or close enough) since that way is a lot “flatter” than taking 18 to 90 and going over the mountains. A bit longer, but not really much.

Wiz Is Really Bored Though

Except, sitting here just outside Caldwell, Idaho 12 hours later it all felt really long. Especially at 60 mph average. Just over 500 miles today.

And, yes, dragging this heavy assed Caravan is a royal pain in the ass. I’ve already spent near $100 for gas just today. (More I think.) But, checking into this RV park and having my “own place” pretty much makes up for it. Still, I need either a smaller Caravan, or a larger truck. That’s just what it boils down to.

Called SWMBO and let her know where we are. I do miss her. Trips are always better with her along.

Anywho, I’m gonna kind of watch “Passengers” and hit the rack.

We Be Back! 6438 Miles Later …

Sorry I haven’t posted for awhile. My tablet was knocked out of my hand at the Reunion, hit the ground, and the screen went wonky. Everything’s squished into a 1/2 inch strip at the top of the display. I was a bit upset since I use that tablet for everything while on trips. Luckily, I have a replacement at home. But it was AT HOME.

Deer Lodge. The ONLY Place I Saw Lightning On Our Trip

My Father-In-Law gave me a Chromebook, which I tried to set up. Installed the WordPress app, but, all my passwords were here at home. So … I’m going to set it up for the next long trip. At least give it a serious try. (Haven’t been too impressed with it so far.)

Anywho, I am NOT going to make a long, drawn-out, post tonight cause I am one tired Old Guy. And I need to batten down the hatches for the storm moving in tomorrow (or tonight). (High winds & lots of rain predicted.)

Nice Start To Monday. Thunder!

Was woken up by thunder (and lightning) at 0350 this morning. Managed to go back to sleep. But was raining pretty hard when I finally got up at 0600. Love lightning. Love thunder. Wish there had been more of it.

I don’t think I posted last night. Probably because I was tired. SWMBO and I spent the day at her folks and started doing “stuff” for them. Decided to take a short tour of the hot tub when we got back to the hotel. Nice. SWMBO was looking excellent in her black one-piece suit. I was looking my fat, old, usual self.
Today was pretty much SSDD after the rain. Turned out to be a pretty nice day after the clouds cleared out. We spent most of the day at the Folks but made a run to Meijer’s for some dinner makings. Tonight we made chili baked taters. Tomorrow I’m going to make a beef stew. We’ll see how it goes from there.
SWMBO mostly spent the day with her mom and I spent most of the day with her dad. Fixed a couple of computer problems he’s been having and set up that NAS I sent him a few months ago. Talked a lot about them maybe moving out to our place. (Which would be nice.)
And that’s about it. SWMBO has some studying to do. (I’m sleeping with a COED!!!!) So I went outside and had a really nice conversation with some guys on one of the local repeaters. Handheld worked really well. Back inside getting settled in for the night.
Fun!
