But something (laziness) always seems to come up and I’m dropping off to sleep when I remember I was *gonna* post.

Ah, well.

SWMBO has been out in Ohio visiting her Dad since the 7th and won’t be back until the 29th. Which means that I’ve had to feed her cat and change it’s poop box every morning. It’s (He’s) finally gotten used to me but now won’t leave me alone. It’s a bigger “pet me!” slut than the Dog.

So, this is our first Christmas apart in YEARS. Still got her a couple of presents though.

And I’ve been keeping busy with doing “things” around the house. Way too many “things.” Gotten rid of things I haven’t even looked at in years; because I could easily with SWMBO gone. Don’t get me started.

Wx has kept me and the Dog inside. Finally hit that age that I just don’t like being cold. We still get out for our morning walks.

My garden tower experiment ain’t working cause I never get downstairs to work on it. Yeah, I should. Get busy doing other “stuff” upstairs and forget about it.

Which is becoming a problem. My memory. I tried refilling one of my Rx’s twice only to find (about an hour ago) a brand new bottle of that medication sitting on my cutting board/clutter collector that I’d refilled and forgot that I refilled it.

I need to re-start one of those green “to do” books like I used when I was in the Navy.

Saw a Doc and he’s got me on the road to the knee replacement. Really looking forward to that. Even bought myself a “knee glide” thingie for exercising my knee.

Anywho, hope everyone has a great Christmas and Holiday season. Remember when you’re leaving cookies and milk out for Santa to also leave a set of boots, a sammich, and several clips of 9mm ammo for John McClain. He could use the help.

Recent memory scan of my mind …

Sitting around watching some show on tv when she turns to me and asks “IF you could go back to when we were first dating, would you still ask me to marry you?”

To which I responded “Knowing what I know now or still blissfully ignorant of what was to come?”

Which, according to some unwritten female code, is NOT the right answer.

But, I blindly walked right in to that “Does this dress make my ass look fat?” type question. (Which also should not – can not – be answered with “Compared to what?” I found out.)

But don’t get me started.

Not a lot going on around here. Had friends visit us from Utah over the Thanksgiving weekend. I made the turkeys and they made everything else. We STILL have too much pie in the fridge! They “broke in” the FILA and said they really liked it down there. Cool.

Wx is getting a lot colder. Supposed to start getting wet tomorrow for the next 4 days. The thumbnail on the wx map shows possible snow tomorrow. Wouldn’t doubt it but my “feelings” about it is we won’t get any real snow until mid-December. But who knows around here.

Took our dog (Wiz) to the vet this AM for teeth cleaning and probably a tooth extraction. If he only gets the cleaning, that’s around $1000. If he gets an extraction, that’s around @$2000. How much y’all want to bet he gets at least 1 extraction. Would bet on 2 “just because.” SWMBO is off picking him up now … (A new dog would be cheaper.)

And I had planned to pay off the credit card this coming month. Damn!

Two 10 lb chubs of 85% burger cooked down to 16 lbs of usable meat and now resides in the freeze dryer for the next day or so. Yummy stuff!

Ham slices, peas, and sweet potatoes for dinner tonight. Time to make a beef stew tomorrow.

BTW, I would. In a heartbeat.

For being in a fight when someone came out (crying) and told us to get our asses (that’s a quote) back to class cause the President had been killed. You know the news is bad when the adult cries. As an 11 year old kid the only thing I got bothered about was wasn’t this funeral EVER going to get over with? It was all there was on TV all the time.

Feel differently about it now though. Standing by for an onslaught of “new” theories, conspiracies, and outright “we don’t really know but we’re going to tell  you anyway” talking heads tonight. Glad I don’t watch regular TV anymore.

Not a whole lot going on around here. Getting things “straightened up a bit” for guests that should be arriving tomorrow. Need to sweep and swab the kitchen and my part will be oh so not done.

Made a dump run. Need to make a Habitat run. (Or call their truck.) Faith-In-Action run could be in my future also.

Bought two turkey breasts (which would equal 4 turkey breasts wouldn’t it?) and thinking of trying something “different” with one of them. Maybe use Mesquite rub in the seasonings. SWMBO doesn’t eat cold turkey so I can pretty much do what I want (that won’t get me jailed or divorced or placed in a mental “institution”) with the other. Hm-mm. The possibilities …

I do like a cold turkey sammich with LOTS of mayo though. The only good reason to have Thanksgiving sometimes.

This lady was living in this crappy little trailer along the edge of one of the lakes around here with no electricity and a hose for water. She got to where she wasn’t paying space rent so the owner asked her to leave. She needed help moving the stuff she wants to keep into an already overstuffed storage place down the road. So we helped.

And she’s a “hoarder.” Big time. She didn’t want to get rid of anything she had stuffed in that little trailer even though she’s on the verge of having only her car (parked next to her Mom’s house) to live in

I don’t really know all her story, and I’m not really interested, but SWMBO and the other ladies that helped weren’t too upset that this lady was having to move into her car. SWMBO says she’s paying for a life long series of wrong choices and stubbornness.

I thought it odd that she pays (at least $70/mo) for a storage unit and chose not to pay rent. .

Not a good combo. But, I figure I’ve done my part in all this and the rest is between her and the world.

Anywho, SWMBO took me to Sherries Restaurant in Silverdale before making our usual stop at WinCo for Date Day. Picked up two turkey breasts (we like the breasts) and other stuff for Thanksgiving. Friends coming in from Utah this year. Cool! We spent so much we qualified for the free turkey; which SWMBO is going to donate to the food bank tomorrow morning.

So I’m sitting here watching the original Gojira (1954) in Japanese (and no Raymond Burr) and ‘re-ripping’ my Godzilla movies because I can do a better job of transcoding them now. I’m wondering how I got more Godzilla movies on my media drive than discs on file? Looks like a trip to Amazon tomorrow. (I do try to stay ‘legal.’)
