When I first joined the Navy and got stationed on the USS Dixie (AD-14), I used to sometimes wonder WHY I could be sent to Viet Nam (and possibly die “for my country”), yet I could not buy or drink a beer legally even at the base Enlisted Club. Old enough to die but too young to drink. There’s something wrong with that…
