Is happening this week. Of course I woke up about 0300 (0250 exactly), got my robe on, and went outside to watch. OF COURSE it was overcast! I hate this place.

When I was going to bed last night, I, as I usually do, looked out the one bedroom window to see the stars (if it’s not overcast). They were there all right. Suddenly there was a long, really bright, trail of a meteor off to the West! Cool! Got my robe on and went out on the deck and saw several more meteor streaks. Cool! None as bright and long as that first one, but still cool. When I finally went to bed I was hoping the sky’s would remain clear later (or earlier depending on your outlook). NOT.

Sometimes it seems that there is someone out there watching, and when they know that something Celestial is happening that I might want to see, they order up the clouds to screw viewing up. Glad I’m not superstitious.

In all actuality, it was a pretty laid back day around here for me. Nice outside and I spent too much time “playing” in this Linux after getting my usual chores done. SWMBO is in Shelton today (and maybe for the next few days) on Jury Duty.

Oh, that Unity thing: I like it, except, it clears my wallpapers back to that stupid looking mouse. All of them. When I exit Unity I have to reset all three monitors. Small bitch, for sure, but it is annyoying.

Anywho, that’s probably it for tonight. Supposed to cloud up and rain after 2300 tonight, and all day tomorrow, so I don’t think I’ll be getting up to try and watch the Perseids again this year. We need some rain so I’m not going to be complaining about it. Much.
