Saturday? Already?

Date Day with SWMBO yesterday was pretty nice. She took me to Red Robin. There was a waiting list unless you didn’t mind eating in the bar. WE didn’t mind eating in the bar. Was kinda spendy for a mushroom burger (for her) and chicken strips (for me), but, being out with her is worth it.
Told her I really enjoy having someone I can go out with and have some fun. She said “Must be nice.”
Most restaurants can seat up to 50% capacity (which is stupid) and every place is packed because folks want to get out of the house and go to a sit down dinner somewhere. But Governor Inslee is still a Dick and won’t just open things up. And he has his Gestapo with guns to enforce his stupid edicts (while limiting our ability for an armed response). Masks work; or they don’t. The Vaccine works; or it doesn’t. Either way get the hell out of our way and let us get on with the business of living, or dieing.
Made a Costco run while we were in the neighborhood. There’s so much neat stuff there. I bought a smaller wok (but can’t give you any valid reason for, except, I wanted it and it was reasonably inexpensive and I’m old and have worked all my life so I can do shit like this every once-in-awhile but who the hell are you to question my life choices so don’t get me started). Anyway …
My new meat slicer should be in today. I’m pretty good with a knife in the kitchen (or in a back alley for that matter), but, can’t seem to slice cooked poultry (other than giant turkey breasts) with any degree of accuracy. Slicer cost $100 so that’s not break-the-bank expensive to try out. If it doesn’t work out I can always Craig’s List it or gift it to someone next Christmas. (Only used once! They’ll never find her body now …)
SWMBO is after me to go and finalize the Stuck Mini-Dozer I want to buy. So I did. $12k later …
anywho, Saturday. Genealogy Library. New meat slicer. Several walks. Chores. Playing with Pi’s and Ham Radio stuff. Good day!
This came from a  Marine’s wife.  It says it all: “I sat, as did millions of other Americans, and watched as the government  underwent a peaceful transition of power a few days ago. At first, I felt a swell of pride and patriotism while Joe Biden took his Oath of Office. However, all that pride quickly vanished as I later watched 21 Marines, in full dress uniform with rifles, fire a 21-gun salute to the President. It was then that I realized how far America ‘s military had deteriorated. Every one of them missed that bastard!”
