Another Wet Wednesday

Which only figures as I do live in WaRshington.  Despite the rain I got out for awhile and made a trip to Fred Meyers & Wal-Mart in Port Orchard for some things. Picked up mail on the way in.

Night before last I ordered some more e-juice from Mt. Baker Vapor and it was in the mail today. That’s fast! Then SWMBO’s Thrive order came in via UPS. Lots of neat stuff.

Just not much going on. The usual around the house. Today is one of those really kind of boring days. Too wet to get out and walk around. Too many “projects” to do around the house that I really don’t feel like starting right now. Think I’ll bake something.

Nope. Didn’t bake either. Did warm up a can of “thick” chili for dinner. I don’t know what a “thick” is, but it was tasty. Tasted like Chicken.

Oh, my. Something in SWMBO’s computer just started making a grinding/whirring sound. Want to guess how my day is going to go tomorrow?

MCARC 2-meter Wednesday Chat Net went well. Lasted almost 45 minutes tonight. Cool.

Almost A Shut In Tuesday. Almost.

Cause it’s Wet out there! And it’s supposed to get wetter. But we did have a small break so me and the Dog went for a quick walk around the back of the property. Did Not manage to walk between most of the drops though. I’m fat.

But I had to make a run to the bank anyway to deposit the Renter’s rent. Made a donut stop by Safeway on the way back. Picked mail up on the way in. Netflix Day! Yay! Got, and watched, the Jesus Christ-Superstar Live Tour and it was pretty good. Surprised myself by remembering most of the words.

The BEST Cloning Program Ever!

Just ordered a mag-mount for my 2m/70cm antenna so I can start getting my radio mounted in my truck. Then I ordered a 3 COAX cable switch so I can run all my HF antenna’s through the automatic tuner I have. I could probably sell this AT-300 tuner I have, but would save it to take with me on trips. It only weighs a couple of pounds so I’ll probably leave it in whatever RV trailer we get. Gotta buy 2 mounting kits for my yaesu 857d, one for the truck and one for the new RV trailer, so it would be fairly easy to mount the radio wherever I’m going to use it. Next month I’ll start checking out ham sticks.

Started saving up for another 857d that I can just mount in the truck and leave there. Or move to the RV trailer. May take me awhile but I will eventually save enough. Or I may buy a different desktop model and mount the one I have. Long as I can find an affordable radio that also does all the “digital” stuff I like doing. And will run on batteries. But if I get another 857d I can clone them if I want to; or when I need to.

And that’s it really. MCARC 10-meter chat net was pretty short cause there was only 3 of us on air. Not much else going on and it’s about bedtime.

Interesting Day. Mostly. Sorta.

Made a run to the Vape Shop in Bremerton. Stopped by my bank and talked to the girl about a loan for an R-Pod 177 (or equivalent). Got some money out then went to my other bank and deposited it into my savings account. Grabbed one of the $5 lunches at DQ and rushed home to eat it. Been updating “Money” and shopping online since!

Talked to the bank about me getting a loan for the RV. After a long, convoluted, conversation it turns out I cannot get a loan on my own no matter how much money I get each month. They will look at our total income to debt ratio. Which really sucks.

Trying to establish credit on my own because I find myself in the same situation as millions of stay-at-home/retired spouses; If something were to happen to SWMBO I couldn’t even refinance our house because I don’t have any credit built up for myself. (Not that I’m planning on anything happening to her!) Oh, sure, insurance would pay most everything we’re paying on off, but then I wouldn’t be able to buy anything on payments because I don’t have credit built up for myself. Or so it seems. Maybe I just don’t understand it all.

Ordered a new Baofeng F8 programming cable and some other stuff from Amazon. Then Mt. Baker Vapor got some of my business. Trying to stay with the tobacco flavored e-juice but get it as clear as I can. The guys at the Vape Shop in Bremerton say I go through so many attys because I don’t use clear juice. So I got one that’s about half as opaque as the one I’ve been using. If that makes any sense.

Sleep Study Went Well. I Think.

Yesterday was a pretty “normal” day around here. Date day! My lovely young bride of almost 30 years, SWMBO, took me to Taco Bell for a late-lunch/early-dinner. Then to Wal-Mart’s for some new sheets. Our usual stop at Safeway and we were home in plenty of time for me to get to Olympia for the Sleep Study.

Left a bit early just in case it was foggy on the way (it wasn’t) and pulled in an hour too early. So I just sat outside and read. Well, not “outside,” but outside their office. The Sleep Study Dude called me in and had me fill out some more paperwork. Then he started attaching wires to me. Forty minutes later I looked like something out of a science-fiction movie!

He put me in a bed and left me to read about half an hour before coming in, hooking me up to the monitors, turning out the lights and leaving me alone. I Could Not Get To Sleep! But, that figures. I was so worried about not being able to get to sleep that I couldn’t get to sleep. Seemed like a couple of hours before I finally dozed off.

Seemed like I was in-and-out all night. Had to get up around 0430 and pee. Which required him to unhook me from the monitors then re-hook me up when I finished my business. Didn’t go back to sleep (that I’m aware of) so he came in around 0500 and got me up for the day. Took all the wires off, had me get dressed, and it was Adios time.

Made it home by 0630. It’s nice that there’s so little traffic at 0530!

So I’m back to my “usual” daily Sunday routine. Plus a little side trip to Raccoon City. Made a Chorizo-Mushroom-Mater-Cheese “Stir” and Toasted Bagel for breakfast. That’ll wear off around noon.

Just ordered “Nerf Bars” for my truck from RealTruck. Not too spendy and I need them for SWMBO to be able to get into/out of the truck more easily. And, hopefully, they’ll look kind of cool too.

Making a Turkey loaf for dinner. Wondering what to add with it. Will probably stick with the tried-and-true mashed taters & veggies. (Was good!)

And now I’m just waiting on the MCARC 2-meter Sunday Evening Chat Net. Rapidly trying to fall asleep though so I’m not sure if I’m even going to make it. (Luckily it was fairly short. Only four check-ins.)
