Damn! How many times have I used that “headline?” How many more times will I use it in the years to come? Could this be one of the reason’s people just click through my blog instead of delving into my in-depth presentation of my normal, every day, boring, life? Who cares! I’m not posting “for them” anyway!
My lovely, young, bride asked me the other day why I post here. My life is more extra ordinary instead of extraordinary. I mean, the highlight of my day was making a run into town to the Vape Shop for some new atty’s. The Renter’s paying their rent for December. The Cold Turkey sandwich I had for a late lunch. (And will probably have for dinner. Someone needs to eat up all that left over turkey!)
But other than that I just plain could not say why I post here. Maybe to share how most American’s really live (day to day)? To practice my writing skills? Doubtful. To make y’all as bored as I can be sometimes? Possibly. Doubtful though.
So, I’m just not going to worry on it. IF I was one of those that needs “followers,” someone hanging on every word I utter, people to tell me how “wonderful” I am, then this blog would be a constant bummer. Few “followers.” Very few comments. Few people that really care about my (boring) life beyond SWMBO and my dead parents. And it just doesn’t matter to me. Really.
I do this because I enjoy doing it. That’s all the reason I need.
Not much else going on. Went out and fixed my new antenna. COLD out there! Everything in the shade is still frosty. All free-standing water is free-standing ice. Sucks! I just plain out miss summer.
And that’s it again. I got to pick SWMBO up at the Ferry Landing tonight; two trips to Bremerton in one day is enough. Almost time to take this old guy to bed.
In case y’all can’t guess: I Hate Cold Weather! With A Passion. ALMOST as much as I hate spammers!
MCARC meeting @ 0830 so I had to be up and out of the house by 0715 so I could stop by the post office in Shelton and get the club’s mail. Meeting went well with 11 people showing up. Cool! Most of the talk was about our repeater and how to get it working as it is supposed to work. (It can get kind of scratchy with distance. Which would be normal except the distance really isn’t that distant.)
Drive to Shelton and back sure was pretty though. Cold and slickery in places but no real problem. Didn’t see any deer this trip. I just love it when they jump out in front of OTHER cars all of a sudden! (Just kidding. I don’t LOVE it…)
Just not much going on around here. Made Chicken-cordon-blu, veggies and some kind of pasta for dinner. SWMBO liked it. Now I’m just going to laze out and watch some of the programs I’ve been downloading and not getting to watch.
Been listening to the radio. Lots of traffic on 17 meters today. Heard folks from all over. Kind of cool to hear a guy in Brazil say “Konechuwa” (sp?) to someone in Japan.
Danged if it didn’t start snowing about 2000 or so; snowed for a couple of hours. Kinda funny as the Weather Guessers for two different channels said it wouldn’t snow at all. It didn’t really stick; except it got so cold that all that snow has frozen. Nice, mostly sunny, but cold day.
SWMBO took me to breakfast at the Family Pancake House in Port Orchard. I had the “Senior Breakfast”: two eggs over easy, two sausage links, Hash browns and ONE piece of toast. I mean, come on. ONE piece of toast? I’d have gone another $.20 for another piece of toast.
Made our usual stop by Safeway. Didn’t spend as much as we don’t really need that much. Nor can we afford that much anymore. Ah well. Luckily, our freezer is still mostly packed with, well, frozen stuff that will last us awhile. There’s still about 30 lbs of chicken in there! Various veggies and other meats. Should last awhile…
Not much going on this evening. Our son cooked dinner for us. Dishes are going now. Listening to the News (but don’t get me started).
Installed Picasa 3 and have it running my scans directory. LOTS of duplicates! Damn!
Anyone know how to fix a 55” Plasma TV? Would be willing to trade working on your computer or Large Lazy FatAss Cat to get this thing fixed. (It’s blocked my pool table long enough!!!!)
